Japanese maples are known for their delicate foliage and small stature. Some have solid palmate leaves while others are delicate laceleaf varieties. Colors range from red, red-orange, red-purple, yellow and green. Check information tag for each specific variety, but they range from 6-8' tall up to 20-25'. Plant in full sun to partial shade with protection from strong winds, especially for the laceleaf varieties.
Crimson King is a Norway Maple with rich maroon to purple tinted leaves throughout late spring and summer. Mature trees reach 30-40 foot tall and 20-40 foot wide.

Signature purple-pink flowers in spring followed by heart-shaped leaves. Some varieties may have a weeping habit like Lavender Twist and will only reach 8-10' tall, while others have a more open spreading form and reach 20-25' tall. Plant in full sun, but tolerates shade too.
Kousa Dogwoods are small trees that bloom after trees have leafed out with either pink, white or reddish blooms. Cornus florida are varieties that flower before the foliage appears. Also available in pink, white or red blooms. Trees reach an average height of 18-25' tall. Full sun to partial shade locations.
Neat fan-shaped leaves turn a brilliant yellow in fall. Excellent as a feature specimen tree in the landscape. Relatively slow growing.
Long showy panicles of yellow blooms grace this tree in spring. Reaches 25-40' tall. Excellent shade tree or feature specimen tree.

Magnolia trees are small to medium size trees with large tulip to star shaped blooms in mid spring. The bloom color can be pink, white, yellow and red-purple. Plant in full sun. Average height is 15-25' tall. Check tags for individual heights.
Crabapples reach 15-20' average height, but some are grafted to only reach 6-8', like the Lollipop Crabapple. Check plant tags for specific details. Blooms white to dark pink in late spring. Small crabapples may develop by fall depending on variety. Plant in full sun or at least provide 6 hours of sun per day.
Elegant columnar evergreen tree with dense branches loaded with dark green needles. Grows a stately 25' tall, but only 6' wide. Plant in full sun in slightly acidic, evenly moist soil.
Small decorative ornamental cherry with zig-zag stems that feature semi-pendulous blooms in white with pink centers in spring. Reaches 6-8' tall and wide with a rounded habit. Plant in full sun.

Ivory Silk Lilac Tree is known for their distinctive clusters of fragrant white blooms in early summer that resemble those of the lilac shrub. Reaches 20-25' tall and 15-20' wide. Plant in full sun to light shade.

Broadleaf evergreen for shade areas with large trumpet blooms in springtime. Grows 3-6' tall. Plant in partial or dappled shade.
Small shrubs with excellent leaf color. Grows 2-3' tall and wide. Little pruning needed. Does have thorns so be careful when trimming.
Eye catching purple berries in late summer to fall. Deciduous shrub that typically grows 3-4' tall and 4-5' wide. Full sun to partial shade is the best location to plant Beautyberry.
Dogwood shrubs are known for their showy stems in winter. There are varieties with bright red stems and also yellow stems. Grows 6-10' tall depending on variety with either green foliage or variegated cream & green foliage. Full sun
Upright, loose branching shrub or small tree. The rounded leaves are a bright reddish-purple and the bloom plumes are a smokey purple-pink. Hence the common name Smoke Bush. Plant in full sun to partial shade.

Vigorous, upright, vase-shaped shrub. Some are trimmed as small trees with a single leading stem, while others are multi-stemmed shrubs. Hollyhock-like blooms begin in midsummer and can last until fall. Grows 8-10' tall. Plant in full sun to partial shade.
Hydrangeas like evenly moist soil conditions and shade during the hot afternoon sun. Some varieties change bloom color depending on the pH of the soil. Blue in acid, pink in alkaline. Most varieties grow 3-5' tall and wide. Some varieties may be smaller, like City Paris Lights, at 12-24" tall.
Oakleaf type hydrangeas can handle drier soil conditions than its cousin, the Mophead large-leaf hydrangea. The blooms are in a long panicle form and change from white to rosy pink with age. Plant in full sun to partial shade.
A fast growing, deciduous shrub. Grows 10-15' tall if left untrimmed, but most gardeners trim it as a low growing hedge or privacy screen. Plant in full sun to partial shade.

Rounded, upright deciduous shrub with showy, very fragrant bloom clusters that are pink in bud, opening to white. Size of shrubs vary by variety, but most grow 6-8' without any trimming. Plant in full sun to partial shade.
Popular landscape shrub with somewhat narrow leaves in solid green, variegated cream & green or burgundy. Trumpet-shaped blooms in late spring to early summer are a favorite of butterflies and hummingbirds. Average height is 3-4' tall and wide. Some varieties like Spilled Wine only grow 1-3' tall. EVERGREEN

Boxwood are evergreen shrubs with petite leaves that are relatively easy to care for and trim. Use for hedging or as individual specimen plantings. Several varieties are a rounded shrub form, but there are upright varieties such as Green Mountain. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Appreciates shade in the afternoons when the sun can be extremely hot. Plant in areas that are protected from strong winter winds. Keep soil evenly moist for best performance.
False cypress has fan-like dense evergreen foliage. Some varieties are upright while others are globe-shaped. They are relatively slow growing, so they are easy to trim and maintain size for the landscape. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Yellow foliage varieties will have the best color when planted in full sun, otherwise the color may be light green in the shade.
Winter heath - bushy shrub 1-2' tall and wide at maturity. Blooms heavily in late winter with tiny pink blooms. Full sun.
Glossy, dark green evergreen leaves with spikes at the leaf tips. The female holly plants will produce clusters of red berries often used as Christmas decor. Grow in average to slightly acidic soil. Full sun to partial shade, with protection from hot afternoon sun and strong winter winds.
Dwarf Pagoda holly is a slow growing evergreen with small leaves. 18" tall by 24" wide at maturity. Plant in full sun to partial shade.
Blue-green evergreen foliage forms a nice pyramidal shape with little to no pruning. Will mature to a height of 12 feet, but can be trimmed to a shorter height. Makes an excellent hedge or windbreak. Plant in full sun.
Evergreen shrub with a dense, rounded growth habit with a dip in the center of a flat top, giving it the common name of Bird's Nest Spruce. Slow growing shrub will reach a mature size of 3-4' tall and 6-8' wide. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Struggles in full shade, so avoid planting in very shady conditions. Prune in late winter to early spring to maintain a desired shape and size.
Common needled evergreen shrub. Taxus Hicksii is an upright growing taxus, good for a columnar feature or tall privacy hedge. Prefers full sun to partial shade, but tolerates shady conditions. Mature size is 12-20' tall and 8-12' wide, but taxus is easily trimmed to maintain shorter sizes.
Naturally rounded shrub with lacy, evergreen foliage. Reaches just 30-36" tall and wide at maturity. Minimal to no pruning necessary. Excellent for foundation plantings in the landscape. Plant in full sun and keep well watered in extreme heat and drought situations.
Neat, rounded shape with fan-like evergreen foliage. No pruning necessary as it only reaches 12-24 inches tall and wide. Enjoy the natural globe-shape year round. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Note, if planted in too much shade, the foliage grows loose and floppy.
