History of Andy's Garden Andy's Garden originated from a greenhouse operation, which had its beginnings at the turn of the 20th century in Piqua, Ohio. After several owners and many changes, the business was purchased by David Anderson in 1962 as a wholesale production operation. In 1964 David opened a retail garden center under the name "The Garden Store." By 1972, the business was renamed Andy's Garden and was transformed into a retail garden center and flower shop with locations in both Piqua and Troy, Ohio. David wanted to add a more personal touch to our name. "Andy" is a nickname for Anderson and a name by which David was known as a boy. Andy's Garden, Inc. became a second-generation business in 1998 when John Anderson purchased the operation from his father David. With over two acres of greenhouses, 95% of all plant material sold in our stores is grown by Andy's staff under strict quality controls. Our plant mix includes annuals, perennials, roses, herbs, vegetables, poinsettias, garden mums, foliage plants, hanging baskets, container gardens and nursery stock. All America Selections and developments in each category including hundreds of varieties are constantly updated. Our garden centers also offer all the gardening supplies you will need, along with water gardening supplies, statuary and fine quality patio furniture to complete your outdoor living areas and our flower shops can help you with all your floral and gift-giving needs. The expansion and success of Andy's Garden has been possible through the efforts of the enthusiastic and caring staff who take pride in growing quality plants and serving our customers in a friendly, knowledgeable manner. A trip to Andy's Garden is a journey into beauty and relaxation. Come and see us - you will be pleased! Meet our newest member of the family! His name is Andy.
